PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw in their efforts to hold fair and transparent polling in the local bodies elections in the province held a trial voting under the biometric system in the city on Saturday morning here, Geo News reported.

The demo polling under biometric system was arranged on the directive of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and held this morning at village council Badhai, ward Wadpagga and Sir Buland Pura here.

This exercise was meant for checking the success of the biometric system in the holding of error–free, transparent polling and thwarting bogus voting in the impending local bodies elections in KPK, sources said.

The trial polling was arranged by the KPK Local government Department in collaboration with provincial election Commission.
