Three Girls Raped in Okara in Three Different Incidents

OKARA: Three girls were raped in separate incidents here on Saturday.

Shahnaz Bibi, daughter of Faiz Muhammad of Daya Ram, had gone to Depalpur for shopping when Muhammad Ashraf, Punnu and their accomplice kidnapped her by car to an unknown destination where Ashraf allegedly raped her. The Depalpur City police have registered a case.

In the second incident, Sobia Bibi, daughter of Abdul Malik of 39-A/4L was alone when Ghulam Muhammad and his two accomplices entered her house and raped her. The Shahbore police have registered a case. Tabinda Bibi of 27/2RA village was alone at her home when Mubashar and his accomplices Liaquat and Aslam entered the house where former raped her at gunpoint. The Satghara police have registered a case.

CALL TO PROTECT RIGHT TO EXPRESSION: The women must stand shoulder to shoulder with men to guard the right to expression, said SAFMA secretary general Imtiaz Alam here on Saturday.

He was speaking at a reference in memory of Abdus Salam, a local journalist, at Okara Press Club. He said that Abdus Salam had guarded the rights of the poor, journalists and the labour against the capitalists. He said that universities, colleges, cultural centres, hospitals and other institutions, not good roads could provide relief to the masses. Imtiaz Alam inaugurated OPC Abdus Salam Library and donated Rs 30,000 for it. Later, a shield was awarded to Shahina, daughter of Abdus Salam, in memory of her late father.
