
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will address the nation for the first time after taking office at 6pm from the PM house on Monday, Express News reported.
Nawaz Sharif has already been briefed by the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and other relevant departments on issues of national security.
The prime minister has also been briefed about the prevailing energy crisis in the country.
The address will consist of a general policy speech with particular focus on the energy crisis, Express News Bureau Chief in Islamabad Amir Ilyas Rana said.
The aim of the speech is to take the nation into confidence and address several problems, including the energy crisis.
The preparations of the speech are currently taking place at Nawaz Sharif’s house in Raiwand.
The speech will be recorded at the Prime Minister’s house and will be broadcasted on Monday at 6pm.
This is the third time that Nawaz Sharif has become prime minister, previously having served as Prime Minister from November 1990 to July 1993 and from February 1997 to October 1999.
