Typhoon Noru devastates Philippine neighborhoods, 6 dead
Super Typhoon Noru has brought heavy rain and flooding across the Philippines, wreaking havoc in the affected areas. The typhoon has killed at least six people to date, including five rescue workers. Traffic police were seen trying to maintain order. Due to fluctuating elevations, the floodwaters quickly gushed into several neighborhoods. Many houses are partially submerged and their residents have temporarily evacuated while awaiting resettlement. The typhoon has also damaged 16,229 hectares of farmland, causing economic losses of more than 140 million pesos (about $2.37 million).
