On a parallel track, Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb has reached Washington, D.C., to open crucial negotiations with the IMF to secure an extended fund facility (EFF) . Pakistan is seeking a three-year, US dollar 8 billion program. Informed officials say that Pakistan has already secured reasonable commitments in support of this new request to the IMF from its key board members.
